Hi, this is my first post. I hope I am not asking a question that has been answered a dozen times before. My searches didn't find my exact problem
I have an iMac G4 17" 1GHz. It will not boot. When I turn it on, the fan in the top spins, but it does nothing else. Nothing.
A local Mac guru told me it was most likely the power supply. I ordered a new one and installed it today. The good news is that the top fan still spins. The bad news is: That is all it does.
Does anyone have any suggestions? If it is not the power supply, what can it be? I have seen the PAV board mentioned on this site, but I didn't find any details about it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Try a PMU reset.

I tried a PMU reset. I took the bottom off and pressed the little plastic covered button. Is there anything more to it than that?
I also have tried several different key stroke combinations, but nothing happens. It seems that there is nothing going on but the fan turning.
Did you follow Apple procedure in the link I provided?
Cheers, Tom
I did follow the procedure in the link as it was written.
