G4-Studio Display problem

Hey All,
I have a G4 tower 500Mhz with a 17" Studio Display (crt) running 9.2.2 that, up until an hour ago worked great. I finished up some work and shut it down to move it to another room. When I hooked it back up the display wouldn't come back on. Now, the latches on the access door are broke and when I sat it down the door flew open and hit the floor. I don't really think that had anything to do with it because the computer still chimes and the hard drives spin up.
Also I have two graphics cards in the machine. An ATI Rage pro 128 in the first slot and an older ATI rage in the second. The monitor won't turn on when plugged into either of these. Both worked fine before. I saw on another other site that maybe the graphics card isn't getting power but I have no idea if that's it or how to fix that problem.
I did try hooking a Dell monitor up to it and..... you guessed it, NOTHING. When I unplugged the Dell it went into test mode as I guess they're supposed to do when nothing is plugged into them. I took it that that monitor was working fine.
Does anyone have any idea how to get this thing rockin' again? Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you try re-seating the video cards? They could have easily gotten knocked out of the slots from a drop like that.

I've seen more than my fair s

I've seen more than my fair share of issues with the 17" Apple Studio CRT (ADC or VGA). You can tell which one you have easily - the ADC unit just has one wire, is clear, and is shaped like an eMac. The VGA unit is like a big grey or blue tray loading iMac with two wires.

Normally, with the ADC - the computer won't power on, or will turn off at random because of voltage issues within the display itself. (the adc display gets its power from the video card - and an adc powered crt isn't my concept of a terribly great idea. With the VGA unit - all bets are off - I've had nothing but misery with those displays - they break pretty frequently. I pretty much consider all CRT based Apple Studio Displays to be good for one thing - boat anchors - they're bulky and heavy enough to do the job.

Now, since your Dell display is displaying no video - I'd remove the video card from the PCI slot - and just run from the card in the AGP slot - reset your PRAM - and you should get something from the first video card.

Thanks

Thank you guys for your replies. I've tried reseating the cards... no luck. I also tried removing the second video card and reset the PRAM... again, no luck. I guess I'm shopping for a new computer today. Again, thank you so very much for your advice.
