Hi,
I have a 20th Anniversary Macintosh with a Comm Slot II Ethernet card and OS 9.1.
I recently replaced the old internal hard drive with a newer one so I initialized the new hard drive and installed the OS 9.1.
Since then, I'm unable to use the Ethernet on this Mac - when I use the AppleTalk control panel to select the Ethernet option, I get an error saying something about my connections. On the few cases that I manage to do this switch I'm unable to browse the internet or see any of my other Macs on the network. The only this that works in this case (if I managed to switch to Ethernet mode on AppleTalk) is a ping to the router on my network. A ping to any other Mac on the network or any website fails.
I had no problems with the Ethernet on this Mac before I did the hard drive upgrade.
What can be the problem? How do I fix it?
Thanks,
Tal
Try a PRAM zap.

Any idea what else can help?
Perhaps this is too obvious and you've already covered it, but have you properly installed the driver for the card?
Which card have you got and which OS were you previously using on the old drive?

And I'm using the same Mac OS as before the hard drive replacement (Mac OS 9.1).
