7300 G3 upgrade problem

I have a 7300 with a Newertech MAXpowr G3 300/150 upgrade card in it, and today it started acting strange. When I start up in OS 9.2.2, I get an error message saying that I need to restart. This happens when the progress bar is less the 25% across, sometimes before. When I put my Twin Turbo 128m/m2 video card in it, I at least get OS 9 to load, but the Finder crashes almost immediately. This seems to have all of the symptoms of a software problem (I hope), since I can start OS 9 perfectly with the extensions turned off. (BTW, everything works fine with the 604e installed, so it has to be related to the G3 card.) I am running version 2.0.5 of the MAXpowr software. I would really appreciate any help, because I don't know where to go from here. Thanks!

Daniel

I just put a MAXpowr G3 240/1

I just put a MAXpowr G3 240/160 into my 7100. I installed 2.0.5 and the only problem I've gotten so far is that if I leave the utility program (the one that shows the card configs and tests the ram) runninng and try to run something else it will lock up. I have yet to try much else. I'll venture a guess that it may well be something to do with either the cache, ram, or OS 9.2.2. I think I read somewhere that only OS 9.1 was reccomended unless you want to run OS X, but I've been doing a lot of skimming of stuff so I dunno how applicable that is for the PCI Macs.

It's back up! :o) I ended up

It's back up! :o) I ended up going through all of the non-9.2 extensions, and I found that the problem was the MAXpowr control panel! Anyway, I disabled that, and everything works just fine now.

You might try configuring it

You might try configuring it as 9.1 and seeing if the MAXpowr extension works. Does ASP show the G3 a/o cache active without it?
