Running A Panasonic KX-P1124 Printer On a IIC

The start of something new.....

I have a Panasonic KX-P1124 Parallel Printer and a Grappler IIc device that I want to use with both my IIc and my IIc Plus instead of my Imagewriter, or Imagewriter II.

With so many knowledgable folks here I figured that I could ask without getting laughed at too much.

Is there any special software that I need to make this concoction work, or is it a fairly straight forward set-up?

As Usual; any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Driver In The Application?

Well . . . what do you want to do with it? The Grappler interfaces were pretty good. The set-up should work. If I remember correctly, you do treat it the same as an Imagewriter II (serial).

Each software package pretty much had to have it's own driver for the printer, and many had a list of specific printers from which to choose (pick a serial one as you are using a serial port). However you may have to play with the settings on both the interface, and your driver selection within the software package. Does this Grappler interface have a set of 4 DIP switches? You might want to refer to the manual and try the companion software samples.

You can start output to this in AppleSoft Basic with the PR# command.

If you have the Orange Micro

If you have the Orange Micro Grappler 9 Pin Parallel Printer Interface for Mac, Apple IIc, IIGS you can find the manual here:

Power Supply

gsmcten,
If you do not find your PS I have a ApriCord IIc serial to parallel converter I use to use with my IIc and a Panasonic KX-P1080i printer you could have. The printer died years ago but I kept the converter, manual and utility disk. The Imagewriter II handles what little printing demands I have for my IIc these days so I really don't need it. It does not require a seperate power supply so you have one less thing to hook up or lose Smile

PM me if you want it

Jim

KX-P1124 Printer

Thanks Jim and all.

I think I've got it covered now.
I found everything I needed this morning and now all I have to do is wait for the parts to arrive and I'll be in business. Smile
