Move over Wonder Woman, the Invisible Mimeo is here!!!

My new case... It sort of reminds me of Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet from the old TV series...
BTW: I learned a lot making this...Like next time use Plexi and not Lexan, the edges don't clean up as easily or take the solvent glue as easily...

hello corey986,
this is realy an awesome piece of handcraft!
the only two points to ask for:
is that at the right side an ipod modified to be used as a mouse ???? or do you just use the ipod as massstorage to deliver the programs with audiosignal to the cassette interface ??? I guess its the second option...
and if at the right side the cassette interface is pluged in - where did you place the connectorjacks.....
i am really attracted by these pics...
do you intend to add some closeups to several of the details ??
congragulations to this excellent result of the work ...
you should really be proud of it...

The iPod is acting as a cassette player to load software and basic. Right now I plug it in to a cable that runs out the back of the case. I need to make up some right angled 1/8 " audio plug to RCA plug cables to mate up to my iPod in/out cable. The right angle is required for clearance in the case. I will then have a nicer way to run the cable out the back.

I'll try to take closer and more pictures this weekend with my real camera not the iPhone and hopefully with a better white background so you can see the details of the case, wiring and mounting. It all depends on how much time I have with the holidays. My son who soldered a lot of the Mimeo with me wants me to cyber-punk the case a little wih some brass accent strips along the bottom edges so I may change the look a little also...

Cheers,
Corey

probably a nice idea as alternate "christmas mod" could be just adding in the corner lines some colored LED-strips as used in nowadays PC case modding... it won´t take to much power and it does not get that hot to cause any harm to the case....

Just a quick iPhone pic of the wiring in the back and with a monitor. No that's not electrical tape, it's all heat shrink tubing Smile

The probe clip to the large cap is used to power the fan. It's attached to the unregulated 5v, which is about 10-11 volts and grounded to a connection on the video out connector's ground on the case.
