This may seem like an odd request but I'm going to ask the question anyway. I'm looking to make a straight through cable for my IIGS that mirrors the same functional pinout of the SSC (in Modem mode) but with Mini DIN 8 to DB9 (Male). Does anyone have any information on what pins I need to write on the Din 8 and DB9 side?

Spartan,
WELCOME to Applefritter!
If you don't mind my asking, what are you attempting to accomplish?
Steven
Hi Steven,
I have a Androbot Topo II robot that was made back in the 80s and at the time it was controlled by a Apple IIe with a SSC which would connect to a IR base station with a DB25 to DB9 http://www.smallrobot.com/topoii.html. What I'm trying to do is use my IIGS internal modem port to connect to the IR transmitter but I need to make a cable that will follow the same straight through pinout for the SSC but adapt it to the IIGS mini DIN 8 connection with a male DB9 on the other end. Does that make sense?
Spartan,
LOL I remember the TOPO.
I understand what you are attempting,
but I am not the person who can help.
Speedy, Are you out there tonight?
Steven
Hello spartan2381,
You will find MiniDIN8 pinout here.
Antony,
Thanks for the link. Looks like its a null modem cable but should be able to pass the pins to make a straight through. I would love to see how this compares to the original SSC pinout.
Thanks,
Marc
