I was thinking of how to make a low power consumption mediacenter using as server a Raspberry pi and as client an Apple tv, all is needed is itunes on Raspbian.

The Itunes specs are 1GHZ CPU and 512 MB of RAM so Raspberry pi B3 can do it i think!
Unfortunately Apple locks down a lot of this. You can't even really use iTunes in linux on a PC unless you use wine, and even then, it runs like garbage.
