Bigger monitor for IIgs

I was wondering, what's the most popular option for a bigger RGB monitor for the IIgs? I have the original one, but it's just a tad too small... I'm thinking of using a Commodore 1084S, but I'm not sure if the picture quality compares...

It does not.  You might

It does not.  You might consider one of the Manilla Gear RGB converters that Henry Corbis at ReActive Micro sells. combined with a good 4:3 RGB flat screen.  Something like maybe a Samsung Syncmaster 710N.

I run a 1084 monitor on my IIgs and cannot tell any difference in picture quality, and I've got a bigger screen and AV input.  I did have to solder a resistor to one of the monitor wires to get it to work properly.

Thanks, that's the route I'm going to go I think, and build my own connector.

IIgs to scart

I use a IIgs to scart cable. Since I don't have a scart monitor I use a HDMI adapter with a 20 inch monitor. Have also used it with a 47" LCD TV

I have a 20" Sony PVM that I'm gonna hook up the IIGS to, as soon as the RGB SCART arrives from Spain. Can't wait to see how it looks. Here's a pic I took of it earlier this year.

I have not been impressed

I have not been impressed with SCART for the IIgs - too many wavy lines with certain colors.  I think the upcoming VidHD HDMI is the way to go.

Really? That's not good. The PVM's are so good for the Genesis, SNES, Atari 8-bit (upgraded to RGB) etc. I guess every system/computer reacts to them differently.

I know the Apple II NTSC

I know the Apple II NTSC output does not really conform to the standard, which is why it does not work well with some devices.  I would suspect the same may be true of PAL and other outputs.  Good enough to work with most things, but not always optimal.  And particularly picky devices may not work or may produce bad results.

The RGB SCART for my PVM came

The RGB SCART for my PVM came in the mail. To me it looks great, but I only have one old Apple II program to compare it on, MasterType.
