Trying to find a resonable price of a commodore 64 that works with power brick. Nothing fancy. My son wants one for his 18th b-day. Something under $100.00 that includes shipping to Idaho or honestly just want to give it a good home. That would be great.

Hopefully, this isn't too late. But you should know that the original bricks for the Commodore 64 are notorious for killing computers without warning, as they tend to over-volt as they fail. Eventually, this will burn out the IC's, with the RAM, PLA, and CIA's being the first to go. However, the VIC II and SID are vulnerable as well. If you have obtained an original supply, I would recommend (as would most Commodore enthusiasts) that you stop using it now.
Fortunately, there is a better solution. Ray Carlson is well known in the Commodore communities for selling aftermarket power supplies that are both safe, affordable, and durable. Just go to his website and send him an email.

I, personally, got his P64 "MINI" brick after frying three of my boards before I knew my PSU was bad. The fault was intermittent, so when I would test it with a multimeter it seemed fine. Then it randomly spiked to 7 volts! Since getting my new PSU, all my commodores have been very happy, and it only cost me about $55 with shipping.
Even if you decide to keep using your original brick, I'd still give his site a visit, as he also sells a "computer saver" that connects between the PSU and the C64 that will prevent any overvoltage from damaging your machine.
