iMac Rev. A Random Blink-what part does it need?

Hi,

My iMac Rev. A is experiencing a random blink on its monitor. Kinda like an electrical spike. The monitor will flash on and off very quickly...like a blink. Does anyone have any idea of which part is going? The PAV board, the powersupply, down converter or what. I would like to get the part before it goes south to be ready.

Yeah, mine did that a few times before it died, luckily it was still in warranty so we got the A.B. replaced free of charge Smile

Aside from discharging the CR

Aside from discharging the CRT is it easy enough to replace? I have the tech manual for it, but no discharge tool. Nothing scares me about doing the work myself except for discharging the CRT. Has anyone here done this work? Also what is the difference between the two revision analog boards?

I discharged mine using an ea

I discharged mine using an earthed screwdriver...but it depends on how safe you feel working around a HT device.

Today the iMac made that electrical crackle sound and shut itself off. The same way it would do with a power failure to your house. After a while I could boot it up again. Does my problem still sound like the Analog board or is it the power supply?

Also what is the difference between the two revision analog boards?
