For Sale. Micron Xceed Color 30HR

I have the following set to sell, all came from same seller originally (20 years ago) unless otherwise noted:

1. Micron Xceed Color 30HR, probably the card the developer used, as it came with the documentation. Might be a regular production card, though. No idea, and I lost contact with the seller.

2. Micro Xceed Grayscale adaptor, original.

3. Micron Xceed Color 30HR Driver Disk, original.

4. Documentation, as found on Archive, plus perhaps more. Note: These are the original documentation that I lended to a fellow forum member to scan.

5. Disk from developer with code. Some are also to be found on Archive, but this is the orignal disk from the developer.

6. Manual for Micron Xceed Color 30HR,  original

7. Harness for connecting Micron Xceed Color 30HR and Grayscale board. NOT ORIGINAL

8. Hookup for external screeen

9. Spare Micron Xceed Color 30HR card, broken!

Enquire direct for photos and / or any questions or concerns you might have.

Selling as I have now gotten other interests, and the cards deserve to get more attention. All works as advertised, except the broken board, of course.

I am looking to sell for 2.000€. A lot to ask for, I know, but there your have it.

Pending response from other forum member, who I gave first shot to purchase.

No offense intended, but I don't think your expectations are even remotely realistic, even on eBay. These boards have been cloned and will be again and sold for less than $500. Also, uglier, but for less than that, there is the (Mystic) LC/Performa 475/Quadra 605 board swap + guts of Apple High Resolution Monochrome Display which achieves 640x480 8-bit grayscale in a compact mac. For even less than that, swapped in 9" monochrome XVGA CRT monitor and guts and Raspberry Pi 4 with emulators for 1024x768 24/32-bit grayscale and far more processing power, RAM, storage bandwidth and gigabit ethernet, exponentially more powerful than any 68k Mac, let alone an SE/30, even with Carrera 040 accellerator.

Sell it with a recapped cherry condition SE/30 with socketed motherboard and socketed 50MHz 68030 accelerator, 128MB RAM, network card and PDS riser, Apple adb keyboard and mouse, you might see $1500.

Maybe  these sales will grant some perspective.

Good luck, rimmer.

Clones of the SE/30 graphics

Clones of the SE/30 graphics card do not exist.

Not sure if you've been looking into what machines and separate cards go for these days. The 2000€ price point is actually pretty reasonable considering the latest sales of the same Micron sales on eBay throughout the last two years.

Hi Bolle. My statement was

Hi Bolle. My statement was ambiguous. I meant grayscale adapter boards have been cloned and will be again.  Here's a recent completed auction for an Xceed card.  I am reminded of  things I can not intelligibly articulate.

This is neither tulips nor diamonds, but a rather limited supply of a Micron XCeed video card for the Mac SE/30 which, in addition to allowing for 640x480 color on an external monitor, allowed for 256 greys on the internal 9" B&W monitor.

While there may be clones of the greyscale board, which attached to the yoke of the internal 9" B&W monitor, the main board is covered by one or more patents and anyone cloning these boards (and I have not seen clones offered for sale) will be subject to penalties for patent infringement.

Your link to the eBay auction is broken.

I wish I still had my SE/30 with its Micron XCeed card, but I tired of it and sold it locally to recoup much of my upgrade investement back in 2000.
