I have been playing around with WiiModem232 and ProTERM 3.1. The WiiModem232 needs to be addressed directly from the terminal to enter Hayes AT strings. Although nowhere in the official ProTERM 3.1 documentation does it talk about this, apparently pressing command-T puts the program in "Terminal Mode" and allows the user to send commands directly to the serial port. My question is, how do I exit this Terminal Mode?

There are two ways to switch between "online" mode and "offline" mode.
First is using the OPTION-T (or Closed-Apple-T) key combination. This is described on page 170 of the ProTerm 3.1 manual under the heading "Global Macros". I agree that it is an obscure reference but it is there. Pressing Option-T (or Closed-Apple-T) puts ProTerm back OFFLINE.
The second way to do it is through the Online menu that's (vaguely) described on page 76. Pressing Open-Apple-L (or "Command-L") brings up the online and emulation menu.
You can invoke this window whether online or offline. One of the options in that dialog box is a checkbox for "online". Simply un-check it to go back offline.
Wow, that is confusing but it works! Thanks.
