Apple //c issues with connecting to ADTPro

I hate to make a thread but I'm not seeing the answer I'm looking for in the various threads and videos out there.

The quick version: It looks like ADTPro is sending correctly but the //c doesn't show any communication.

Details: I'm using ADTPro 2.0.1 on a windows 10 machine. Initially I had some java issues (I think I had a 32bit version installed) but reinstalled a proper version and was able to see the COM port in ADTPro and started setting up the //c. I hit ctrl+reset to get to the command prompt end enter "IN#2" then hit return. At the new prompt I hit ctrl+a and see the question mark. Then I enter "14B" then hit return at which point I see a new prompt (as I understand, it should be ready to receive data at this point). I then go to ADTPro where things are set to COM5. It would appear to be sending the data however I get NO response from the //c.

I feel like ADTPro is working like it should and I don't have a reason to believe the //c is having issues so I'm inclined to wonder if I have a cord problem. I'm using two cords to connect and one is a cheap part from China like so...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-2-0-to-Serial-DB-9-Pin-RS232-Cable-25-Parallel-Adapter-Connector-Windows-7-/271585466174?hash=item3f3bc1573e:g:cwoAAOxydUJTMVDW

And the other cord seems like it's from a source desiging things specifically for the Apple but I don't know how reliable things like this are...

Is there anything obvious that I'm doing wrong here? I've reattached everything several times to make sure the connections were secure. I have another //c I could dig out to test the modem port but that seems like a crazy longshot.

I'm running out of ideas, so I come to you! I really appreciate it! Thanks!

I would try toggling the 'Imagewriter //c' cable tick box in the ADTPro configuration on the server side. I don't use a //c Imagewriter cable, but ticking this box is the only way that my //c can use ADTPro.

Nailed it! Can't believe I didn't try the check, but she's rocking and rolling now! Prince of Persia here I come!

You guys are awesome! I really appreciate you helping me get this going. I'm super stoked about the new set-up. //c with Rom 3, joystick, the external 5.25 drive and ColorMonitor IIc to boot (the mouse needs some crazy pad though so I'll have to figure that out next).

It's my new main Apple II so this was totally vital.

Re: Apple //c issues with connecting to ADTPro

Sounds like a good system! I recently restored an Apple //c with ROM 0 with the purpose of flipping it for a bit of profit - but I can't let it go, it's such a good computer. It's really making me challenge my perception that //e is king.
