Apple //c original Floppies

Just got a new Apple //c complete in box except the 5 disks are missing.

Does anyone know the names and where I can download the original disks ?

Thanks!

I happen to have my set

I happen to have my set sitting right here, as I am going through and trying to image all my old disks before they go bad.  Sadly, I'm only having about a 75% success rate in general.  I was able to image my //c floppies on my Floppy Emu except the apple at play.  But it looks like I must have backed it up once upon a time, as I found a copy on one of my own floppies.

Anyway, you can find them on Asimov or one of the mirrors in the images/masters/model_specific folder.  There are 2 oe 3 different images of each disk there.  Three of the five disks were two sided, and the last two single.  All together there is:

  • An Introduction (side 1)
  • Apple at Play (side 2)

  • Apple at Work - 80 col (side 1)
  • Apple at Work - 40 col (side 2)

  • Exploring Apple Logo (side 1)
  • The Inside Story (side 2)

  • Getting Down to BASIC

  • System Utilities

If you need a master set, and

If you need a master set, and can't get a floppy Emu, I could produce a set. They won't have factory labels. The disks that you want are DOS 3.3 and current ProDOS, which would be better than the factory disks. I have a specific set of system master disks that I use, that I have sent to other forum members, that give extra tools.

I typically avoid sending physical media except where it is needed or where people want it in trade, but I can make an exception if you have no other options. The //c is rather painful to set up with ADT Pro, so real disks help.

P.S. If you ordered the updated Floppy Emu case, I would be interested in photos and a review of assembling it. The revision of the case that I bought is terrible, and from what Brian has said, it has been redesigned to fix the flaws that are the main line of my complaints. The hardware of course, is very good.

There is a new revision of

There is a new revision of the Floppy Emu case?  I ordered mine back in May/June I think.  It's the frosted ice case.  I don't see any mention on BOMW's site about a new case since then.  The one I have is a pain to assemble with the little "t" shaped buttons, and occassionally the "t" pieces shift and don't hit the actual buttons.  So you have to kind of wiggle them to line back up.

I know all about that nightmare. The sides on mine never fit properly and kept falling off, so I left two of them off in the end. If I tightened it so that the sides fit properly, then the buttons stopped actuating (they were presse at all times).

He has since reesigned it, in a way ery similar to what I would have done, and said that he is waiting for availability to produce the new revision of it that will supposedly be much better. There is however, a superior 3D model case that you can print off or have printed. IMO, he should license that and have it made in batches instead of using this acrylic sheet technology.

I only know because I sent suggestions for a redesign to him, and he said that he already redesigned it with some of the same ideas.
