I am having a startup error with my apple II plus. When I first sit down to turn it on everything works, wonderfully no issues at all. Now after wanting to swap disks/reset the computer with the on/off switch , the computer then boots up with a weak beep and a strange screen. If I leave it turned off for 30 minutes and come back then it all works again. It's only when it's that quick on/off/on. I'll attach an image of the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'd be happy to answer any questions! Thanks :)
This sounds like the well known "phantom RAM issue. Are you sure it's making a sound when you turn it on? You could try replacing the RAM or using something like ROMX to guarantee a cold boot every time you turn it on.
actually looking at the picture now, it seems you might not be getting a reset signal at all. Is there a disk controller in the system? Does hitting ctrl-reset make the computer work?
One more thing to try. Type ctrl-G a few times and see if it beeps.
