Copying single files

Is it possible to copy single files between Apple II 5.25" disks?

I've looked through the DOS manual but I can only find info on how to copy entire disks.

Here's the situation: I've got a couple of disks where the DOS is somehow damaged (or isn't initialized? Looking back I think I sometimes stored files on disks without DOS to save room for more files. Is that possible?), In any case the disks only barely boot at all or don't boot. But if I boot from another DOS disk, then switch disks thet behave just fine.

So... I want to reformat some new disks, copy the individual files over to them, then copy the entire disks back, overwriting the problematic ones. Is there a simple way to do this?

Boot up from a known good disk

Boot up from a known good disk, then initialize a fresh destination disk,

then run CopyA or FID from a disk that has it.  You can use 1 drive or 2, depending on what you have available.

Should be easy to do.  Good luck!

Thanks. I tried FID ][ which

Thanks. I tried FID ][ which allowed me to do this (a little cumbersome that you have to remember the filenames insted of having them displayed, but a digital camera comes in handy to take a shot of the catalog first). I have two drives, so apart from having to remember (or look up) each filename and copying one file at a time it was a breeze. We're spoilt in this time and age with how easy file-handling is within a modern operating system.

Jeffmazur: I also tried COPY II PLUS 3.3 but I couldn't find any file-copy option there; it only copies the entire disk. If memory serves me right I do believe there were many similar named programs back in the day, so I'll see what I can find with the same spelling as yours...
