Bought this today. I am wondering if anyone else out there has an early (sub-5000) IIe for comparison purposes. I'm very curious about the story behind the serial numbers. The serial on mine is 'A2S2-1320'. As we all know, A2S2 is the prefix for the II+. I'm curious if someone messed up in the beginning. Did they simply add a 1 to the prefix (1A2S2) as a quickie fix for that mistake? I'm assuming they wouldn't have intended to have two Apple IIs with the same serial number.

I'm wondering if anyone has one around the same serial or earlier than mine -- just curious to see if there were any other variations on labelling, etc before getting to that serial.
