How to load games on MicroDrive/Turbo

Howdy and thanks for reading,

I have a "new" Apple iiGS with a MicroDrive/Turbo.  I also have a old backup of Adventure in dsk format.

Using CiderPress:

When I extract the dsk file to a folder, then extract the contents into a folder on the CF, I can't get the game to start.

It starts fine in AppleWin.

The same goes for Mixed Up Mother Goose.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Will

For anyone with the same

For anyone with the same issue:

I asked Reddit and a guy on there said that the Microdrive Turbo was only for emulating a hard drive.  Since the CFFA3000 is unavailable, the only option for me is the Floppy Emu to emulate disk drives...which appearently is necessary to play most of the gaming classics for the system.

I am new, so if I am wrong on this please reply with a correction.

Have a good one,

Will

That is correct, but there

That is correct, but there are plenty of collections of games converted to ProDOS that will work. These are available on Asimov...

Will is correct.  MicroDrive

Will is correct.  MicroDrive/Turbo is a hard drive emulator.  It is possible to run some games from it, but it isn't as straightforward as just putting .DSK images in a folder.  CFFA3000 is indeed sold out, and it is likely that it may be a few years before there are any more made if there ever are.  Another option is the FloppyEmu from BMOW.  It uses an SD type card that you can put .DSK images on and then select them and boot from them.  That should work for most games.
