I am in search of a keyboard for this computer

Well, I am going to take a shot here, but I think it is a long shot.

So I recently aquired a Med Fly Apple II clone with 2 disk drives.  However, the folks I bought it from could not find the keyboard for it.

I am in search of a keyboard, can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jay

Cool clone.  Looks like the

Cool clone.  Looks like the keyboard connector is an RJ11 or RJ12 maybe?  That's going to be a tough one.  Can you show some pictures inside the case where that jack hooks up to the motherboard?  Is there some kind of adapter in there?  If I recall some of those clones had a little board that converted a serial stream from a keyboard to a ][+ style connector on the motherboard.  If it is something like that a possible solution to get the machine running might be a PS/2 adapter and then you can easily find a PS/2 style keyboard.  Or possibly even a USB converter maybe with a wireless keyboard?  Just some thoughts.

There were so many different clones built back in the day.  I think I vaguely remember seeing ads for the Med Fly back in the 1980s but I am pretty sure I never knew anyone that had one or ever saw one in person.  I suspect a lot of those clones didn't sell in very large quantities.  By the time later ones came out the world had moved on to the //e and most of the clones were ][+ compatible which couldn't run a lot of the new software people wanted to use very easily.  Getting things like Appleworks to run on a ][+ clone required a lot of gyrations and often the end result wasn't great.

Maybe BASIS keyboard?

As I recall the Medfly was a Australian version of the German Basis 108.  I think the MEDFLY people licensed it from Basis, had quality problems and Basis kind of stepped in to save their reputation.  I think there were at least 2 version of the MEDFLY, pre and post Basis involovement.  This is all from ancient memories, but you might see what you can find on Basis 108.  Does yours have a Z80 on board also?

I start classes again tomorrow, but if you hit me with a PM in 10 days or so, I'll try to dig my Basis 108 out of storage and send some pics. I'd love to see pics of yours to compare to  later as well.
