Keyboard Issues on Apple IIgs in //e Case, Caused By External Numpad

After installing my Transwarp GS, which now thankfully works, I discovered a new, and utterly bizarre fault.

Pressing the G key now acts as if I pressed every character on home how. Likewise the N key causes every character on its row to act as if they were pressed, the Y key does this for tre top row, and the 6 key does this for the numbers row.

Every other key works normally, but these four trigger all of the characters on their row to print.

I tracked this fault to a funny thing: The Numeric Keypad expansion. I connected the (Apple brand) numeric keypad to the unit at the same time as the Transwarp, and unplugging that stopped this behaviour, but it leads me to believe that there is a fault either in the numeric keypad, on the //gs mainboard, or in how the //gs circuitry interacts with the numeric keypad.

Whilst I do not NEED the keypad, I thought it was a fine addition and it would be useful in programming. Do any of you have any idea as to why this would happen?
