Laser 128E computer to modern printer?

This might be a ridiculously naive question, but then I'm probably ridiculously naive sometimes.

I have a Laser 128E (Apple //e clone) with a parallel printer output. Might it cause any electrical damage to the computer or the printer if I were to try it with a Brother 2040 laser printer?

I suppose if they would work together I wouldn't get anything more than generic plain text, but that's all I need. I just don't want to short anything or cause some sort of feedback voltage where it shouldn't be. The computer's manual says the parallel printer interface is Centronics  standard and the printer's input connector is a Centronics type.

Any thoughts?
