The Lower Planes BBS

Up and flying for the first time in 20years, The Lower Planes is back in business.  It actually runs on x86 hardware, I didn't want to waste my GS by using it for a BBS.  But ever loving support for II's and the GS.

telnet/ssh/www tlp.zapto.org           right next door to  pineapple.zapto.org  with its A2 Hardware database

Message Areas fully QWK supported

Antique Warez I've kept .SHK files rather than disk images.

Online Games

The Lower Planes reboot MkII

The Lower Planes has had some turbulance recently.

  • Complete system failure on the host hardware neccessitated rebuilding from scratch.
  • Elimination of a new bug causing system failure for new users.
  • All new menus and screens. Some make more logical sense than before, rather than tacked on.
  • File areas and FTP, are expanding nicely. This was the one area unaffected by the above mentioned failure.
  • Files are .shk packet for easier integration into an existing system.
  • Message areas are completely reset but starting to bop along again.
  • Online games have also been reset.

The Lower Planes firmly reccommends ProTerm, Megaterm, and Agate for enhanced viewing pleasure.  You can have sexy ansi (slower), basic ansi (highlighting in colour, faster) or the standby standard of  ASCII

Would still like to investigate a message network between GBBS pro systems.  Not sure what can be done with Warp6.

A

tlp.zapto.org - http/ftp/telnet/ssh initial login is through a linux system so a user:password combo of bbs:bbs are required.

Change of port

Any port in a storm?

I've change TLP from port 23, out to 6502 to avoid spurious login attempts from scripts or compromised equipment.
