According to the eBay selling rules what you are suggesting is illegal.
If you had offered it here to everyone first, then placed it up for auction, that would have been okay.
The selling of an "Auction Item" outside of eBay while the auction is in progress is illegal.
In my opinion, it is also highly unethical.
You are free to do what you want.
Maybe I'm the only one with this opinion.

I would be upset if I were to bid, then all of a sudden the item was no longer available. I also wouldn't want to buy outside of eBay on an item that's listed there.
