I think that anything that would make it "easy enough to be trivial" to manipulate images from nearby modern compiuters on the same LAN would be extremely useful.
Either through a small app on the modern computer, or via a sharable folder. Many (including myself) have getten confused with the setting up and maintaining of temporary TNFS servers on our local machines.
