g'day, As you all know, I have been happy about sporting my Beige AIO (g3) that I have done some major OC'ing to (a 233MHz CPU to 280, and a 300 to 458) and I come to you to ask this. I have been getting "Can't_Open" printed on my screen, but after about 30 seconds, it goes away, and then boots. I am boggled as to what causes this.
A little Info of what I am doing:
I am getting ready to install PPC Ubuntu 5.0.4 on this machine on the original HDD (i am keeping the OS X I have on a seperate 11GB Hdd (now on the desk)) and I switched the HDD's out, and all works well. I can boot from CD, and HDD after I installed OS 8.1 No problems. But it takes a while for the screen to come on (probably because I have 256MB Ram in it [takes a long time to add up those numbers, eh?]) and then displays the "Can't_Open" for about 2 1/2 Lines, then goes on and is happy booting.
I am wondering how I can get rid of this?
Any one got any clues?
I also cannot reset the PRAM, but I CAN boot into OF. I don't know any of the commands for OF 1.0 (compared to "New World" macs, I don't know ANYTHING about the old OF that apple integrated into the early G3's)
if I have to, i can just let it go, but it still takes a while to boot, and under OS X it did not do this.
