The Gamba page makes use of the DayStar IIsi PDS card, which is a whole different beast than a NuBus adapter.

... and therein lies the reason why that NuBus card on eBay went to the only bidder for so little. The seller would have been beating us off with a stick if it had been a PDS card.

The SE/30 and IIsi share a PDS slot known as the 030 PDS. Ethernet cards and monitor cards for either machine are interchangeable ... The IIsi also had an option from Apple called the IIsi FPU/Nubus Adapter, which gave the IIsi a single Nubus slot and an FPU.

That's not a Nubus card, it's the Nubus adapter. And seeing as they share the exact same PDS, barring space considerations there's no reason why that wouldn't work in an SE/30.

/me imagines the possibilities and has to go sit down for a while ...

Transmission time

It took you a year to pick me up on my sloppy reference to NuBus card/adapter? Guilty as charged, y'r 'Onor. About the adapter's use (above), since the dream expansion would go near to needing the 300W PS of a Quadra 9x0, why not start with a Quadra?

Apart from the challenge, I sometimes wonder (let it be only whispered ...) why I work towards upgrading an SE/30, and then (un?)reality takes over again.
