i tunes problems

hi
im having a problem uploading songs onto my itunes from a cd everytime i attempt at uploading a song i only get 20 seconds or so of it, how do i get the full track uploaded ?

What OS are you using? Windows (2000 or XP)? Mac OS 9? Mac OS X (Tiger/Panther/Jaguar)?

What version of iTunes are you using (6.x/5/4.x)? Be specific.

What version of QuickTime is running on your machine (7.x/6.x/5.x)? Standard or Pro?

How is the CD-ROM drive connected? (internal/USB 1.1/USB 2.0/FireWire)

Is this a commercially-pressed CD, a CD-R, or a CD-RW? Do you have this same problem regardless of media type, or do different types yeild different results?

Any paper labels on the CD? Did you mark it with a Sharpie? Any other physical irregularities?

Do you have any other problems with the CD-ROM drive when using the OS or other applications (besides iTunes)?

Again, details help us determine the nature of the problem.

sorry about the lack of detail

im using windows xp
i tunes in 6.x
quicktime is standard
cd romdrive is connected internally
and the problem is with all media types
and the cds work fine on windows media player

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add and Remove Programs. Wait for the list to populate.

Uninstall iTunes and QuickTime, in that order.

Restart your computer.

Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes and download the iTunes/QuickTime combo installer for Windows.

Reinstall iTunes/QuickTime.

Restart your computer.

See what happens and let us know.

still cannot upload a song properly , when i attempt to upload a song the orange circle appers with the squiggle inside it to say its converting to aac this only appers for a few seconds if that should this appear for longer?

I am having the same problem loading CD's to iTunes. This had never happened until i loaded the most recent iTunes. I have tried all of the steps listed in this blog... any suggestions?
