Squeeze

Try squeezing the sides of the bezel with your hands. IE squeeze the front and back together, at the sides, down low where the problem is. Start off gently, and slowly increase the pressure till you see a result. Obviously don't squeeze so hard that something cracks, but give it a try. Try moving your hands up and down to different points.

If the screen comes good with a little pressure, then you've got a loose connection. My friend's 1400 now sports an attractive gaffer tape band down each side to apply just the right amount of pressure.

Alternatively, it might be possible to fix the problem internally by adding some small pieces of card in just the right place to apply the pressure.

This is a common 1400 problem. Not sure if the issue is with the screen cable going into the connector, or loose solder where the connector joins the circuit board or what. If the pressure fix doesn't work, it could be a break in the cable itself or looseness at the other end where it joins the motherboard.

For take apart instructions google "gamba2 manuals"
