5500

Well my 5400 did that...nasty old thing... erm I really couldn't figure out what was wrong, it's probably serious enough to render the computer useless, even after about 3 hours of poking around with its internals the problem didn't present itself to me- that thing's parked in a nice spot at the local dump now. Smile yup- I've kept my 6300 longer than a 5400.

You like your Macintosh more than me, don't you, Dave? Dave? Can you hear me, Dave...?

Did you check the PRAM batter

Did you check the PRAM battery? Is the RAM seated correctly, and is it the right working RAM?

Jon.

I have a 5500 psu just sittin

I have a 5500 psu just sitting here and i tried it out. I found that a lose wircauses it to sometimes click. you would have to open the vase and find a white wire with 4 pins that goes to the psu and make sure it is connected. Otherwise my second guess is one of the capacitors.
