just a regular juniper credit card. transparent plastic with green color.
that sort of sucks...
...but I recently cancelled it. It was just a plain, white card, with light blue "Juniper" lettering.
I cancelled due to Juniper's absolute commitment to screwing over their customers. If Apple decides to go with another credit agency in the future, I might deal with them, but not any time soon. I ended up transfering the balance to a card whose interest rate was half what Juniper was charging me.
The good part is, by transfering the balance and cancelling the card, my credit score has gone up 40 points!
Guess it's a blessing in disguise that I keep getting rejected for Juniper credit. I want a Black MacBook so bad that I can taste it.
I guess it's also a blessing in disguise because by the time I can afford one (soon, I hope) they should be shipping with mini conroes..err.. Meroms w00t!@@11z0r
Licorice?
I'm actually in a color bind... i like the black i like the white.. i just cant decide... i have to decided within a week because im about to say goodbye to my powerbook and hello to my macbook
Why would you pay $200 for a paint job? The mid reange white one has the same specs, and you can up the hard drive to 80 GB for only $50 more.
It is litterly a paint job except the keyboard. A friednd has a black one that got scratched and you can see the glossy white under the black paint so your bassically paying extra for a keyboard.
*** LOL ***
Now this is funny! Most mac-bashing zealots stereotype Apple fanatics as being the types to pay too much for a computer in a pretty case.
Now I'm being flamed by Apple fanatics for wanting to pay too much for a computer in a pretty case.
I want the black MacBook because:
1) I can afford it (or, I have the ability to afford it very soon)
2) I absolutely, positively loathe Apple's "white trend".
I honestly think iPods, iBooks, and white MacBooks are the most ridiculous looking consumer electronics ever made. White looks great on kitchen appliances and nowhere else. I wouldn't buy an iPod unless it was a black Nano. If I got a white iPod for free I'd sell it. Look, I'm already going to be paying way more for a Core Duo-based laptop than I need to.
What difference is an extra $200? I'll tell you what the difference is. I wouldn't be caught dead in public with the white one, and I would *heart* the black one very, very much.
I'm astounded that a bunch of Mac-heads would have trouble understanding the concept of "because I want it" (personal preference)
Michi did get a nice iPod Video, in black. I've been recently thinking about stripping my iBooks paint and giving it a paint job. White is ok to me, but I think something more fun is in order...
I don't mind other people having white electronics, but in some strange archetype way, I really need a black laptop. And there are plenty of those to choose from. I will probably run OpenBSD more than anything else, but I really *NEED* a good, reliable laptop that can run BSD, Linux, Windows and OSX.
I chose my black MacBook for a number of reasons when I traded in my PowerBook G4.
1. I've owned too many white iBooks, the black MacBook reminds of the heady days of the PowerBook G3
2. It was an even swap for the PowerBook either way, so why not.
3. Some other staffers have white MacBooks or MacBook Pros - got tired of accidentally grabbing a coworker's PBG4 15" when I had mine, so having something different is worth the extra money to me.
4. There were more black MacBooks than white ones in stock at the time.
5. the white on black keyboard is easier on my eyes than the other way around. Boot into single user mode and it's perfectly monochromatic.
But, that's just me. The Pro wasn't enough of an improvement for me to pay the $500 difference. I'm going to be buying a new machine towards the beginning of 08 anyway, so may as well go cheap. (I change laptops every 18 months on average)
