Well I finally got my iBook(FireWire), and the Indigo case has shifted into 2 colours; indigo and gross discoloured blue. It kind of looks like it's been faded by the sun- is that possible? Otherwise...can I get rid of the murky green tinge?

Where is the discoloration? My iBook has some yellowing on the bottom in the grey area. I think it's caused by the heat of the processor.

The murkiness is on the 'squishy' super-scratchable indigo plastic panels, it on the top cover and around the USB/FireWire etc ports. And I don't think I can get rid of it.
You like your Macintosh more than me, don't you, Dave? Dave? Can you hear me, Dave...?
Try using a mild cleaning agent like dish detergent or something on it and see if that makes a difference. If not, it's probably either faded from sun exposure or chemical exposure of some sort.
