Mac II - no sound

Hi,

I've been building up a mac II piece by piece and just yesterday got it all together. It works, but there are two problems. First is I have to hot-wire it to get it started, but that is easy to fix by replacing the PRAM battery. The other problem is there is no sound - using either internal or external speakers. I'd be interested in any suggestions about what to look for. There's no obvious damage to the motherboard or components, no leaky or damaged caps etc. If I can't get it fixed, I guess I'll just have to try and get hold of a NuBus sound card and use that instead.
