I am in the middle of a project to upgrade the LCD in a clamshell iBook to XGA (1024x768) from the stock SVGA (800x600) display. You can read about it here on the MacNN forums. Once the project is done, I'll be more than happy to post a how-to here at AppleFritter.
However, in order to continue, I need a specific cable. The cable I'm looking for is from a clamshell iBook and is pictured here at Flickr.com. The 20-pin LCD connector on the cable is flat and white and looks identical to the LCD cables for white G3/G4 iBooks in size and shape. It should be labelled with a sticker that says "LG" with model number "HPU280010500U2" as seen in the picture I linked.
I've found this online at one site for (if I remember correctly) $40. I'd like to spend no more than about $15 on this, if possible.
Thanks in advance!!
I didn't realize links don't work.

go to your local Apple reseller and ask for part number 922-5368. It's the Cable, display, LG for the clamshell iBooks with the LG display in it. Shouldn't be more than $25.
At the risk of sounding like a complete fool - would my best bet be a third-party Apple reseller and service place (there's a place called Help My Mac! in my area), or an actual Apple store? Thanks!!
The Apple Store will not sell individuals parts, while a third party Apple Authorized Reseller/Service Provider can and, often, will. There's a tool on Apple's web site for finding your local Authorized Reseller/Service Provider. Depending on what part of the country you are in, I can make recommendations.
Thanks for the info - I live in Indianapolis, and there's apparently only one Mac reseller in the entire stupid city, aside from our only Apple store.
I called them up and they can get it to me for $20 + tax. Thanks again!
