Hey guys,
I recently purchased a UJ 846 superdrive to put in an iBook g4 1.33 12". I am having some problems with the drive itself. It reads it in the system profiler but does not want to accept any discs. It also makes a few noises at start up then nothing. Is this drive NOT compatible with this notebook? I am running 10.4.9 and have tried installing patchburn 4 and then I uninstalled it. No dice.
I was going to try and reinstall the OS, but obviously can't due to the drive not accepting discs. Is it a hardware issue? Bad drive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
