Suddenly, to the right of the names of all my folders in the tree view, weird purplish flower icons are appearing. See this screen shot.

Everything works...but what are these? Running OSX 10.3 on an iBook.

Just realised: it only appears next to folders in the Finder. Somehow, the Finder is displaying that icon instead of the small grey arrow that tells you that it is a folder.
Edit: anyone know how to delete duplicate comments?
Yes...I agree it is likely a database pointer error, and it does look like an Adobe Illustrator icon.
