Recently a friend gave me a Powerbook G4 - its a lovely machine and specced up to the eyeballs, however he did mention that sometimes there is a problem with the graphics. Sometimes on bootup you would get this red patterning on the screen and as it loads OSX everything seems to be ok, but the gfx is garbled and disjointed. He thought it was something wrong the VRAM. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do I need a new logic board? What is the approx cost for this for a powerbook with no warranty left? (Im in the UK)
