What in the world...This is the stupidest thing I've seen.

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and really haven't had that many mac questions because I've been able to figure them out on my own for the most part. However this is completely BAFFLING. I love the "ancient" apple clamshells, and I just picked up a 466MHz logic board today off of ebay. I had a fully functional 366MHz Clamshell blueberry (Obviously I customized it.). I still had the blueberry's original 300Mhz logic board and screen. But since I wanted a slightly faster laptop to use for my classes, I wanted to upgrade to the 466Mhz with a nice 512MB of RAM stick in it. Since the 300MHz screen wouldn't light up on the 466Mhz. (Screen there, no backlight.) I decided to try the 366's screen but still the same result ensued. I was already fed up and didn't have the patience today especially after the horrific date I had last night, so I decided to put the 366MHz's screen back on the Blueberry and say screw it for today. Of course now the backlight doesn't work on this laptop either, and the only time the backlight works is on the 300Mhz logic board. Is this a firmware problem? The time and date is messed up on the 366Mhz as well which is why I'm wondering if it is a firmware problem.
Thanks!

I Believe that the clamshells

I Believe that the clamshells do not have a PRAM Battery, so after the power is removed (battery or power supply) the mac depends on a capacitor to keep the date and time settings, that might be why the date and time are incorrect

Sorry I can't help with the screen problem, however there are a number of people who know the clamshell around here that should be able to point you in the correct direction.

Hope this helps,
mak
