A new website - www.Apple2Online.com - was launched on 01 April 2010 with the goal of being a free public-access library for all materials Apple II-related. The site features a Software Library, Games Library, Reference Library, Photo Library, Forums, etc. In it's first 6 weeks, over 4000 visits to the site were recorded.
As someone who started out with an Apple ][+ 48K back in the day, I got back to my vintage roots last year... and found it extremely difficult and time-consuming trying to find the software online, then figuring out how to get it to my Apple II systems. There are plenty of download sites, each with different content and differing quality of that content (for example, a download program may or may not work), and so I created Apple2Online.com to pool all the various resources into a single site with the goal of making it easy to find the materials out there. Several folks have contributed software, manuals & photos already, and we're always looking for more (hint, hint)!
