Ok, I've had OS 9 helper on my drive for awhile, but I've never used it. My current Mac (9500/200/256/2gb) currently has OS 9.1 installed on it. Would there be any advantages if I were to use OS 9 helper to update to either 9.2.1 or 9.2.2, or should I leave it be?
On another note, I scored a copy of Toast 5, so now my SCSI burner works. 
I've used OS9 helper to upgrade a 5500 (actually a Takky Color Classic with a 5500 board) from 9.1 to 9.2.2. I had no problems and the machine runs great.
However, this is a hobby machine. It's not my primary work machine. And I don't depend on it for burning CDs, and I don't have any SCSI peripherals/drivers to speak of on it.
So if you want you could try, but if it's your primary machine, I would recommend not doing it, or at least partitioning the HD and doing it to an OS on one partition, while keeping a pure 9.1 installation on the other partition.

so I'll be ok there. I just wasnt sure if it would be worth it. Its more or less just a playtoy. If I break it then ok, if not, rock on.
... if only for the OpenTransport updates alone.
In 9.1, OT used to die on me after a few straight days of running. Typically, it would result in my dropping an IP connection. I could usually clear up the problem by turning TCP/IP off and on again in the control panel, but occassionally it would die altogether and the only fix was to restart.
I haven't had that problem ONCE in 9.2.2.
Also, the Finder has been re-written a bit. It should feel a little faster.
My 2¢: It's worth the upgrade.
My PTP/200MP has been rock-solid in 9.2.2. My 5500/G3 was rock solid in 9.2.2 until I tried to install USB support and managed to hose it up (force quit the installer instead of restarting). I haven't gone back to 9.2.2 yet because it's been incovenient - the computer is off-site and doesn't have a 'net connection or handy supply of OS install CDs. All my true G3s (beige, Wallstreets, Pismo) are all quite happy with 9.2.2.

Well, I managed to update to 9.2.1 without a hitch (other than it kept griping because I had a 9.2.1 CD in the drive), but when I went to update it further to 9.2.2, it gave me some sort of error. I'll post it if I try it again, but so far so good with the current upgrade.
I never recommend upgrading to 9.2 unless you specifically need it for an application. OS 9.2 is designed to make classic work better in OS X.
It wasn't intended as an upgrade path for OS 9 unless going to OS X also.
There is really no advantage I can see to adding more stuff when you don't need it, but if it's a toy go for it.... if only just for the experience.
The very things that make OS 9.2.x quicker in OS X also make it quicker in 9.2.x.
OpenTransport got a heap of improvements for 9.2.2.
There were other improvements, too, but I don't remember them all.
9.2.2 is generally better than 9.1. But here are some other reasons why you might want to upgrade. http://www.os9forever.com/os9helper.html
FWIW, 9.2.2 on a PCI Mac is very stable. Caution is always well advised, but there's tons of FUD about 9.2.2 on PCI PowerMacs. Don't take caution too far - you might as well not get out of bed in the morning.
