"unsupported" cd-rw drives

Hoping I'd get lucky, I pulled my LG cd-rw out of my old PC and dropped it into my B/W G3. The drive itself works, and CDs and whatnot can be read, but I can't burn using it, because it is an "unsupported" drive. Any experience with this... is there a way to get around it, or do I really need to buy a compatible drive? Sorry about the newbie question, but this really surprised me.

Thanks in advance!
Tom

Head on over to xlr8yourmac.c

Head on over to xlr8yourmac.com and see if they have the drive model listed. Some people have managed to patch certain files to allow different burners to be "supported."

Thanks a ton, guys! I was able to download patchburn, which allows unsupported drives to become "supported," and it seems to work like a charm. Can't thank you all enough.
