Hi everyone,I’m trying to transfer a few disk images to my Apple IIc using ADTpro. The bootstrapping process works fine, but whenever I select an option like (D)ir or (R)eceive in ADTpro, a "Host timeout" message appears immediately. I had read that USB-to-serial adapters using the Prolific PL2303 chip don't work very well for this, so I ordered one with an FTDI chip instead—but unfortunately, that hasn't changed the outcome. I’ve already tested both available baud rates.
I also read somewhere that very early Apple IIc motherboards have a timing issue with the serial port...? My motherboard is stamped "1983" (so it should be one of those early boards). There is also a 74LS161 chip installed on the board...
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get the transfer via ADTpro working?
