So I just got ahold of a Performa 580, and I'm wondering:
Can its FULL wiring harness be used for a Takky? In other words, since this is already an AIO Mac with a VGA monitor, is the wiring from the motherboard connector to the analog board connector already pretty much the same as a custom Takky wiring harness made from, say, a 6360 harness and a Color Classic analog board connector? If so, it would save a lot of time.
Just to be clear: I understand that the 580's analog board can't be used in a Takky. And, I'm not talking about extra wiring for a 2nd PSU or a 3.3V regultor. I'm just referring to the analog board connector, as it's already wired to the mobo connector.
TIA,
Matt
The fact that you have to make up a special cable for the analogue board in a Takky indicates that you can't use the wiring loom as is from a 580.
See http://homepage2.nifty.com/frogeye/connector.html
If you could, the wiring for the a/b would be 'straight through'.

I'd be VERY interested in seeing documentation on the differences between the 575 and 580 harnesses! That'd help a lot to flesh out the info already in my 575/CC chart.

... the 580 uses a totally different analog board connector. In fact, it's just a plain black IDC connector, like one would see on the end of an internal SCSI or IDE cable.

Logically, a 575 harness is very similar to the CC one and a 580 harness is very similar to a 630/6x00/5x00 one. Hence the difference in complexity between a Mystic (575) and a Takky (630 and up)
