And can I run OS X Server on the PB?
You can theoretically run 10.3 using XPostFacto, but I wouldn't recommend it. Wallstreets have enough problems running 10.2, and be prepared for more if you install Panther.
In my opinion, Wallstreets are OS 9 machines.
I ran 10.2 on my Wallstreet for quite a while and I had no Problems (only hardware Problems, but not caused by 10.2)
what processor and how much memory do you have?
with a 233mhz and 256 mb ram 10.2 ran VERY slow on my wallstreet
its a great machine for 9
also if you have a wavelan card, os 9 will recognize it as an airport card, with os x you need 3rd party drivers
It's a 250MHz PB with 288MB RAM.
Mac OS X Server 1.x should run fine on the Wallstreet's. Although finding a legit copy is tough.
Do everyone a favour and don't be sticking OS X on any old Wallstreet.
OS 9 is a great OS(as long as you don't go back further than 9.2.2). Its still current, and it's blazing fast.
OS X kills Macs. We all know it. Let the poor old dear live to see the new year.
I've got 10.3 installed on 2 Wallstreets (300MHz, 512MB RAM on one and 320MB on the other, 1MB cache @ 200MHz), and it runs just fine, especially in 16-bit colour and after the modified 10.2.6 RagePro kext is installed. No kernel panics at all, just some backlight issues before I replaced the PRAM battery. The only "problem" is the lack of floppy support.
