The fan in my Powerbook Lombard doesn't want to spin up any longer. There was a few times in the past when it did spin up but it doesn't anymore. Now aside from getting a replacement fan, do these powerbooks get hot enough to justify it turning on frequently?
I am also wondering (semi-hack related) if it is possible to hard wire the fan to be on all the time by disconnecting the tempature wire. Or will it simple refuse to function at all then?
Basically, I just had the L2 Cache replaced and if it means having a small fan on all the time to keep heat down I don't mind but first I need to figure out what's up with the fan.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks
