okay, I know that the PDS on the IIsi is the same as SE/30 and is sometimes referred to as the 030 PDS slot. I also know that the SE PDS is a unique animal. What I do not know is:
[*]Where can I find pinout info on the SE expansion slot?
[*]Where can I find a riser card and network card for the SE (reputable source, reasonable price)?
[*]Any tried-and-rtue mthods for anchoring down an internal HD when two floppies are installed?
And thanks to all the folks over on the other SE thread( http://www.applefritter.com/node/6342 ), I got a lot of good and helpful things from that and TL's link to gamba's page. (Alas, no pinouts.)

I've got a dual-floppy SE w/ an internal HDD. It's got the bracket for the HDD offset to the rear several inches to clear the CRT and is screwed on top of the upper floppy. It wouldn't be too hard to custom fold/fab something useful on your own. ax0n has also put two HDDs and the floppy in his SE/30. He had/has problems with the drives interfering wiht the CRT (wavy video during disk accesses) so putting the drive as far away from the CRT as you can would be a good idea.
I really should know this, but will an SE/30 ethernet card work in the SE? I've got an SE/30 card around somewhere that you're welcome to.

I do not know why, but the pinouts are different. Hang on to that card, I have a pending deal for an SE/30 and might need to pick that up off you.

has the pinout for the SE's PDS slot. Why you do you want/need the pinout anyhow?
If you just want to add enet, keep scanning eBay and/or the LEM swaplist and/or wherever, and an SE-PDS enet adapter will come to you sooner or later. There's at least one on eBay right now, though the BIN of US$20 is more than what I'd pay. Found it using: search-titles-only ->mac* se* (ether*,network*)<-

You can get PDF'S of them if you hunt around, but you have to search the full title, "Inside Macintosh" is not enough, you would need to search "Inside macintosh: essentials and overview" for example, I could not find any of them without that precision.
You don't need a riser. The ethernet interfaces are 2-part: a larger card that fits horizontally above the logic board, connected by a ribbon cable to a smaller card which provides the external sockets on the back of the case.
The SE/30 cards are similar, except they mount vertically in the slot since there isn't much room for a horizontal card over the SE/30 logic board.
I have ethernet cards for both machines for sale, as well as cards for other older Macs and even SCSI/ethernet adapters for slotless Macs. Inquire off-list (bkattwinkel at cfl dot rr dot com).
There were a couple of special brackets for this; one just shifted the hard drive to the rear, and the other both to the rear and toward the edge of the case. I wasn't planning on selling any of mine but could be persuaded.
I replied offline about the ethernet card.
As far as the bracket, I was thinking of fabricating my own, but was hoping to get some ideas from others. I am still hoping to replace the CRT with an LCD. If I can, I can drop some serious SCSI drives in the top - I am thinking dual caddy CD drives that eject vertically, and then chroming the case (can you say 'toaster'?).
