I have a iMac Bondi with a bad analog board that I have been googling and googling for months about the ATX conversions. I also have an SE with really bad screen burn that I would like to try this hack with. Here is the website I found the above photo on: http://homepage2.nifty.com/kameya-z/iMacPlus.html The translation from Japanese to English on altavista.com isn't that great and the site isn't giving enough details on the power supply etc. Can any of the experts take this on or at least just the theories and post them? Everywhere I look I don't seem to get a difinitive answer on soft power on and off for these hacks. I can do all the cutting and metal supports and dremeling with ease but whats the point if you can recreate the on and off of the original mac way with the new atx power supply. Help!

This is soooo very cool! For a moment I thought it was just a nice V-hack! Apparently, this bloke has done other similar hacks, including a a 52xx/62xx based Plus.
How about using a miniMac?
They did a really nice job on the seams . . . I think anyway, pics aren't good enough! Notice the speakers, firing upward through the old vents in the top. And the rear port arrangement is nicely done as well, too bad the monitor port couldn't have been squeezed into the bottom with the others.
Damn, great stuff!
