Okay. I recently brought a second hand eMac from a friend. He was moving to Sweden, and I wanted it as a DVD/Music player for my study.
I got it home, and ran into a rather large problem. The drive had been permently set to region 4. As I am living in a region 2 zone this is, to put it mildly, less than helpful. Can anyone suggest a quick fix.
whats the model of the drive? go to www.videohelp.com and under the mac video forums ask someone if there is a region crack/flash.
i know it can definatly be done for most drives, but it will probably void the drives warranty (it modifies firmware)
good luck
eric
Keep in mind that circumventing region coding, at least in the USA, is illegal.
oops sorry well forget i said anything
or shoot me a PM
VLC ( a video player thingo) I think just ignores regions of DVDs, so if u dont mind not using the apple player then this should solve ure problem. Just look on versiontracker for it if you haven't already solved ure problem.
