I like to embed the entire Apple I logic on a single FPGA chip. Has anyone done it sofar?
There have been a couple implementations of the 6502 on an FPGA, though not an entire Apple I. It would certainly fit.
Is there any interest in an Apple I in an FPGA? I am almost finished with an APPLE IIe in a FPGA. This should not be too difficult a task if anyone is interested.

While I've seen a few System-on-Chip implementations, I have not seen anyone do it for the Apple I series, or any of the Apples at all. However, the more complex Commodore 64 was next to homebrewed into a System-on-Chip setup, and that chip currently resides in those joysticks that you can plug into your TVs that can be had for about 30 bucks.
It's certainly possible, but it's quite a task to take on.
How do you program an FGPA? I have looked at some info about them at a few sites, and they look pretty complex. I'm just now starting to do PIC programmig by using a nifty kit called the PIC-El, which I am still building. Sadly the PIC-EL is only supported by windoze machines of you want to do programing through the computer.

It looks like I am reinventing the wheel. I am using the exact same FPGA board that he is using. It looks like he was able to aquire a couple of add on boards. I am in progress of building my own add on board. Like his, I will need addional ROM space, a speaker and some mass storage. I am working on the ROM, since this is the easy task. Then the speaker, an even easier task. I am still trying to decide on the mass storage. I am still trying to decide between a larger flash ROM, compact flash, and MMC flash. I am also planning on using .nib files so I can boot almost any program. But my plan was to use the mass storage to hold the files.
Actually the $30 TV games have real 65c02's for processors...
I believe Vellos is talking about Ellsworth's Commodore 64 DTV, which does implement the processor in an FPGA.
