About a week ago I bought a Zonet ZPS2102 print server to share my printers without having yet another computer running. Currently it has an HP Laserjet 4 Plus attatched to it (non-PS). When I get this one working with my Mac, I"ll also add a Canon S400 inkjet printer.
The Windows machines can see it and print to it just fine. My Beige G3 can see it, but all it prints its gibberish. When setting up the printer in 10.2.8, I tell it where the printer is, and tell it to use the HP Laserjet 4 series CUPS+GIMP driver. I've also tried the LaserJet 4 Plus driver from Apple. So far, not good. Zonet says it supports the Mac, PC, and Unix/Linux. In the instructions, the Mac instructions are limited to MacOS 9 and prior versions.
Does anyone else have some ideas as to why I can't print to it?
I tried it a few more times, and set it to use LPR, and chose CUPS+GIMP Print's LJ4 driver. Worked like a charm!
